It was a time in high school when I took the ACT and got a score of 13 on the math section, and a 19 overall and my guidance counselors told me I would never go to college. I got into the school of my choice and had to deal with the barrier of math in college where my major was math-heavy to an extent. I needed a C to pass through this math class and ended up getting a C- two years straight. I debated leaving college altogether because my peers were not only ahead of me, but I couldn't overcome what had been my biggest barrier academically for years. The 3rd time around with some tutoring and great people in my corner I passed the same math class with a B+. I consider this a big testimony in my college experience because I did something for a moment I thought I wasn't capable of.
